It was déjà vu for our writers this week as the winner at Michigan came down to fuel mileage. Just like in June, it looked like Jimmie Johnson was on his way to victory before once again running out of gas with just three laps remaining.
That put second-place Brian Vickers, who also was running on fumes but had just enough to make it to the checkered flag, in the lead and secured his first win of the year, ending our Creatures' streak of correctly picking the winner.
Vickers' win shook up the points standings just a bit and here’s how our Creatures stack up as we head to Bristol next Saturday night.
Ben Bomberger (3,388) Carl Edwards finished fourth (1)
Kelly Crandall (3,230) Greg Biffle finished 20th (2)

The Sprint Cup Series heads to Thunder Valley, Bristol Motor Speedway, next Saturday night for short track racing under the lights.
Check back Friday morning to see whom our Creatures think will be the first to the checkered flag on Tennessee’s bullring.
