Roger Federer to Miss 2015 Davis Cup: Latest Details, Comments and Reaction
If Switzerland is going to repeat at the 2015 Davis Cup, it will have to do so without Roger Federer.
According to The Associated Press' Sandra Harwitt, the World No. 2 announced his intention to skip the annual tournament on Monday, making it clear he wouldn't lose any sleep over the decision.
"It wasn't a difficult decision," he said. "I have played for so long, and I think by winning it, I can finally do whatever I please, to be quite honest."

Along with Stan Wawrinka, Michael Lammer and Marco Chiudinelli, "Fed-Ex" helped the Swiss to the country's first-ever title in 2014. At 50-17 overall in Davis Cup play, he has certainly earned the right to take a break from the tournament.

Switzerland kicks off play March 6 against Belgium. Without Federer and World No. 7 Wawrinka, who will sit out the first round but is undecided about playing later in the year, the Swiss are going to have a difficult time advancing to the quarterfinals.
As for Fed-Ex, this will help the 33-year-old stay fresh as he focuses on adding Grand Slam title No. 18 to the trophy case.
