Is Denard Robinson One Of The Nations Fastest Players?

One of the most overrated statistics in football is straight speed.

Rarely is any player in a position to need to simply outrun another player as if they were on a track.

Yet speed might be one of the the most important attribute to the players.

That's what makes quarterback Denard Robinson's arrival so exciting.

After zipping by the Florida track season last spring in the 100-meter dash, Robinson arrived at U-M with a heck of a reputation. But he hasn't raced for the sprint title yet.

"Until the day we race, I'm not going to say anything," said safety Troy Woolfolk, presumed to be the present title holder. "If anybody were to be the top two, it's me and him. I can't wait until that day comes and clears all the questions. I'll handle my business then." This would be fun to watch id have my front row seat and popcorn hahahah.

Apparently that will happen, eventually. It seems the champ gets to determine the venue and timetable. But it really doesnt matter if one is faster than another is all bout the team.

"If he wants it," Woolfolk said. "I've got to wait until I get back down. I gained a lot of weight (to play safety)—I'm about 200 now—and I've got to get a week to get ready for that." Humm this is intersting

Woolfolk is already doing his homework in the class and out.

"Yes I am (scouting him), I'm not going to lie, I am," he said. "I'm looking at every play, and today he looked really fast, so I have a lot of work to do." Indeed he does

Earlier this week, coach Rich Rodriguez said he was  very impressed with Robinson's speed but within the context of his position.

"He's fast fast," Rodriguez said. "We have some other guys that can run with him, too. As a quarterback, he's a different level of speed than other quarterbacks have."

I'd compare him to Pat White wouldn't you??? He may be faster than Pat White, imagine that.
