Ric Flair Gives Triple H Advice on Confrontation with Sting at WWE Fastlane 2015
If there's one man who can speak to the dangers that come with battling Sting, it's the Nature Boy, Ric Flair.
During Monday night's edition of Raw, the 16-time world champion tried to impart some of his wisdom on Triple H, who's set to confront Sting at the Fastlane pay-per-view on Sunday, via WWE Universe:
Triple H remained unmoved, shoving Flair to the mat and declaring he doesn't fear Sting.
As a whole, the segment was well done. WWE rarely acknowledges any sort of history that stretches beyond a few months, so to see the company bring up the history between Flair and Sting was great.
Starting with the very first Clash of the Champions in 1988, Flair and Sting had a beef that spanned decades. They constantly quarreled over the world heavyweight title, and their matches were some of the best to occur under the WCW/NWA banner.
Having Flair come out to speak about his rivalry with Sting and tie it into the Triple H-Sting feud was a smart idea and helped build the anticipation for Fastlane:
Hyping a face-to-face confrontation instead of a regular singles match isn't easy, especially with WrestleMania on the horizon. WWE fans know that whatever happens between Sting and Triple H at Fastlane, it's all about setting up for 'Mania.
With that said, Flair proved why he's such a legend as he helped make Sting vs. Triple H one of the most compelling aspects of Fastlane heading into Sunday.
