Jerry Brown's Recruiting Before Fresno State

Jerry Brown is waiting!

San Francisco (Calif.) Sacred Heart Cathedral forward Jerry Brown, a 2009 prospect is waiting for the University of Washington to give him a solid offer.  Brown speaks highly of the basketball program at UW and the coaching staff.  Romar and his California ties seem to continue as he consistently recruits hard with players from the state of California!

“UW has been recruiting me the hardest since I have been in 8th grade.  To tell you the truth that’s the best school for me. My Dad and I have been talking about the school and the program a lot.  I am just waiting for a solid offer from them and will most likely commit.”

Brown is a solid strong forward who can emerge to be an elite forward by working on all the aspects of his game. Brown would fit in well with UW’s run and gun style of play. One of the major aspects of his game he can work on is defense. Brown is a long rangy player at 6-foot-6 with a nice upside.

Currently Brown has solid offers from Arizona St, UNLV, Pepperdine, UC Santa Barbara, and Cal.  Other schools that are in the mix are USC, Texas, Marquette, Arizona, and Kansas.

Current Husky Quincy Pondexter and future Husky Elston Turner also hail from the same area as Brown in California.  Brown has played with Turner and has bumped into Pondexter a couple of times on and off the court.

“Quincy and I saw each other in New Orleans when we attended the adidas event they had out there.  We just talked about basketball and how UW is a good fit for players who like the run and gun pace and how the coaches prepare you for the next level.”

With school in session now, Brown is getting ready for the upcoming basketball season and making good grades in the classroom. Brown is a hard worker in the gym and is striving to be the best player he can be.

“Overall I need to work on all aspects of my game.  I want to become a great player.  I am working with my High School coach and Phil Handy who runs a lot of drills and works with players all around the area.”

So when will UW give Brown a solid offer?  Brown plans on making a visit sometime in the near future to check out the campus.

“Paul Fortier and I have been working out a day for me to come out there but no solid date has been planned. I want to come out soon so I can check it out”

We will all have to wait and see if the end of the road will be gold and purple for Brown!
