Johnny Manziel Apologizes to Browns After Missing Treatment, Walkthrough

Mike ChiariDec 29, 2014

In the wake of his latest misstep, Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel is taking full responsibility for his actions, and he has vowed to make some changes moving forward.

According to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, the rookie signal-caller was fined for being late to a treatment session for his injured hamstring Saturday:

Per Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, it was reported that Johnny Football wasn't on time after throwing a big party the night before.

The former Texas A&M star denied that notion, however, according to ESPN.com's Jeremy Fowler:

What Manziel didn't debate, though, was the fact that he made a big mistake:

After admitting to being in the wrong, the controversial quarterback admonished himself publicly and stressed the importance of following through:

Although nobody can be certain of Manziel's sincerity besides Manziel himself, Fowler believes he means what he said:

Manziel rode the bench for most of 2014 after being selected 22nd overall in the 2014 NFL draft. He didn't make the most of his opportunity to start late in the year, as he struggled against the Cincinnati Bengals and Carolina Panthers before getting injured, but he still figures to be a part of Cleveland's future plans.

It is entirely possible that the Browns will give Manziel a chance to be their starter in 2015, but he must first show that he is serious about being a professional and being a leader at this level.
