Kovalev was just named Sports Illustrated's Fighter of the Year, per SI.com's Chris Mannix, and his three championship belts are evidence of his prowess.
Without a loss in his professional career, immense force he generates from his punch and, most recently, a unanimous-decision victory over Bernard Hopkins among others, the Russian star is a tough matchup for Pascal.
But this will be a home bout for the underdog Pascal. The 32-year-old veteran hails from the Montreal area and should have plenty of Canadian support behind him as he tries to hand Kovalev his first defeat.
