MIAMI - MAY 01: Dwyane Wade #3 of the Miami Heat pumps his fist after the heat get a stop in the fourth quarter against the Atlanta Hawks during Game Six of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals at American Airlines Arena on May 1, 2009 in Miami, Florida. Dwyane Wade is currently in Los Angeles trying to help the Miami Heat obtain a huge piece to help the franchise in Lamar Odom.

I find it hard to believe that Odom would be taking this much time and "strongly considering" choosing the Heat unless Wade had convinced Odom that he was in Miami for the long run.

Wade has recently said on his Twitter page that he is "in LA to bring Odom bac to Miami with me."

This should be good news for all fans of the Heat because Wade seems very committed to improving this franchise for the long haul.

It seems quite clear that he wants to be the face of this franchise and the pitchman to bring in the pieces around him that he feels will complement his talent.

Now this does not mean that he will sign an extension this off-season, because that is still very unlikely. If he waits until next off-season he stands to get more money and a max contract.

At this point, if Odom comes to Miami or any free agents that Wade helped recruit, you can pretty much guarantee that he assured them he will be there for longer than next season.

My guess is that, behind closed doors, he has also assured Riley that he will commit to the Heat long term next off-season.

Because of that Riley seems to be helping Wade get his wish of trying to contend as soon as next season.

Any team that is trying to clear cap space to lure Wade from Miami better have a plan B.
