Glen Rice Jr. Injury: Updates on Wizards Guard's Ankle and Return
Joseph ZuckerOct 15, 2014
First Bradley Beal and now Glen Rice Jr. The Washington Wizards can't catch a break this offseason.
Head coach Randy Wittman revealed on Wednesday night that the second-year guard suffered an ankle injury in a preseason game against Maccabi Haifa and is considered "day-to-day," per J. Michael of CSNWashington.com:
Ben Standig of CSNWashington.com reported that Rice walked out of the locker room without the use of crutches but did have a sizable boot on his right leg:
Rice appeared in 11 games for the Wizards last year, averaging 2.9 points, 1.8 rebounds and 0.6 assists in 9.9 minutes a night.
Beal's injury likely meant that Rice would take on a larger role on the team, but those plans will be put on hold for the time being.
