WWE Hell in a Cell 2014: Biggest X-Factors to Watch at Massive PPV

Ryan DilbertSep 30, 2014

Just outside the center of the spotlight, it will be men like Damien Sandow (aka "Damien Mizdow") who will create some of the key moments at WWE Hell in a Cell 2014.

The pay-per-view does not yet have a single official bout on its card, but WWE has hinted at who will be a part of the action come Oct. 26. Dean Ambrose is sure to shine, John Cena is sure to overcome the odds and Sandow and company will provide some of the underrated, memorable elements on the show.

A man beginning to embrace his dark side, a nutty Diva and a corporate crony promise to make an impact at Hell in a Cell as well.

Mark Henry

1 of 5

Losing has been hard on Mark Henry.

After failing to defeat Rusev at Night of Champions or the Raw afterward, The World's Strongest Man suffered an embarrassing loss in Chicago. Bo Dallas scored an upset over him on Monday's Raw.

That compelled Henry to attack Dallas backstage, crushing him with equipment backstage. Couple that with the resentment he showed in addressing the crowd on last week's Main Event and it looks as if a heel turn is in the works.

Henry's full-on return to his monstrous self could occur at Hell in a Cell.

That's bad news for his ally Big Show or whomever he first decides to induct into the Hall of Pain. Either way, one of the bigger headlines from the pay-per-view would be Henry's shift into villainy.

If he makes that turn before the pay-per-view, his foe is sure to experience a more cold, merciless and daunting version of the big man. Henry destroying his opposition during his heel run in 2011 was enthralling.

That thrill ride may be set to begin all over again.

Damien Sandow

Wherever The Miz ends up on the Hell in a Cell card, Damien Sandow will be right behind him, mimicking his actions.

The Mizdow persona has been a surprising success, highlighting Sandow's charm and mic skills. Expect WWE to utilize that and to keep Miz in the spotlight.

On Monday's Raw, it appeared that the company may have Sheamus and Dolph Ziggler trade their Night of Champions challengers. Cesaro just missed out on winning Ziggler's title. Sandow later took on Sheamus as The Miz watched on.

With Rusev entangled with Big Show and Bray Wyatt not being used nearly enough, it's likely that The Celtic Warrior takes on The Miz.

If that's the direction WWE takes, Sandow's antics promise to be a big part of that matchup. Plus, there's the chance that he takes to underhanded tactics to get the self-proclaimed A-lister a win over the United States champ.

Alicia Fox

3 of 5

Before Paige takes on AJ Lee once more, she enlisted an ally in Alicia Fox.

Paige announced on Monday's Raw that the mentally unstable Diva was now her new bestie. That will add intrigue to the Divas title feud.

If Fox is in Paige's corner, there's no chance she just stands there. Fox has spent her airtime in recent months spraying soda, stealing hats and generally being a nutcase.

She'll add some fun to the next clash between AJ and Paige. Should Paige lose, one can expect her and Fox to go on an entertaining tantrum. Should she win, the celebration promises to be wild.

Fox's addition gives WWE another element to play with in this story, another narrative toy to tinker with.

Luke Harper

4 of 5

WWE made it clear on Monday's Raw that is has big plans for Luke Harper.

Harper featured prominently in a new Wyatt Family vignette. Bray Wyatt felt more like a supporting character and Erick Rowan was hardly seen.

There is still a good amount of time to highlight Harper further before Hell in a Cell and then give him the first pay-per-view singles match of his career.

If that's how things play out, expect a hard hitting, captivating affair. Harper has quietly been building an impressive resume under Wyatt's wing. After so much excellence as one half of a tag team, expectations for his first solo battle in the spotlight will be high.

Whoever WWE puts in front him is in for a long night while fans will likely get a display of intensity and brute force that will leave them talking.

Kane

5 of 5

With Randy Orton and Seth Rollins sure to be key parts of Hell in a Cell, count on Kane being there alongside them, ready to create more controversy.

Kane tried to aid Orton to a win at Money in the Bank. He made sure Rollins was victorious at that event. He has often been a consistent presence in both fellow Authority members' matches since then.

That is sure to continue at Hell in a Cell.

If WWE puts Orton, Rollins, Dean Ambrose and John Cena into the same match, it will be Kane who provides the advantage for the heels. Handing either man a weapon or attacking either Cena or Ambrose are likely scenarios.

If Ambrose gets a singles opportunity against Rollins, one can bet on Kane either being one of The Lunatic Fringe's biggest obstacles or a means for Rollins to escape with a cheap victory.

Kane is the beast in the shadows waiting to be unleashed. Rollins will need him, especially if he has to contend with both Ambrose and Cena.
