Danica Patrick Runs into Boyfriend Ricky Stenhouse Jr. at MyAFibStory.com 400

"The 17 hit me."

That's what Danica Patrick said on her radio as she entered pit road after she got hit into a wall with 10 laps to go in Sunday's MyAFibStory.com 400. NASCAR fans know that No. 17 is Ricky Stenhouse Jr., who just happens to be Patrick's boyfriend.

Stenhouse Jr. and Patrick made contact on Turn 4 of Lap 257. Patrick's car was turned sideways in the accident, and both cars were damaged.

Wrecking your significant other may not be the best idea. However, it was an accident and doesn't appear that this situation will cause any strain between the couple. Patrick talked about the incident after the race, via NASCAR.com:

I heard my spotter (Brandon Benesch) say that the 14 (Stewart) was below me on track, and I didn't know the 17 (Stenhouse Jr.) was there on the high side of the track. My spotter took the blame on that one. I just didn’t know Ricky was up there, and I obviously don't want to hit his car or anyone else with 10 laps to go.

I talked with Ricky afterward and we’re fine. It's just a tough deal. We finished 19th even with the damage so it was a decent run. We just had a tight car all day.

Something like this could certainly make for an awkward dinner later. However, it looks like the two were able to talk about the incident after the race and aren't holding anything against one another.

This wasn't the first time that the two have been involved in a wreck this season. As Bob Pockrass of Sporting News noted, Stenhouse Jr. wrecked Patrick at the Sprint Unlimited—a preseason exhibition—earlier this year.

Stenhouse Jr. (17th) finished just ahead of Patrick (19th) in the MyAFibStory.com 400.
