Aric Almirola wins a rain-shortened Coke Zero 400!

The Coke Zero 400 was originally scheduled for Saturday night, but rain postponed the race to Sunday, where the weather continued to impact drivers and fans.

When the Coke Zero 400 finally did start, a huge wreck happened around Lap 20 involving 16 cars. Drivers like Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson all saw their days end early after waiting out the weather Saturday.

With top drivers knocked out of the race, others like David Gilliland and David Ragan were able to stay up front and compete for the lead.

Jamie McMurray and Greg Biffle were out front around Lap 50, and other drivers started to push for the front as the halfway mark approached.

Rain continued to be an issue, and the race at Daytona quickly became more about making it to Lap 80 rather than finishing the entire race.

The Coke Zero 400 made it past Lap 80, and drivers like Kurt Busch, Kasey Kahne and Joey Logano all found themselves toward the front of the pack racing single file.

At Lap 98 another big wreck happened involving 26 cars, and drivers like Kyle Busch and Kasey Kahne saw their days end. Busch specifically got it the worst, as he ended up upside down in his car. He was fine, but his car wasn't.

Rain eventually started to set in after the Coke Zero 400 went back to green, and Aric Almirola found himself out front when the weather brought out the red flag.

It was 30 years ago that Richard Petty won his 200th race, and it was the first time Almirola won a Sprint Cup race in the No. 43 car of Petty Motorsports. Now Almirola and Petty Motorsports have a chance to do something in the Chase, all thanks to the craziness that happens at superspeedways like Daytona.
