NBA Summer League Rosters 2014: Team-by-Team List of Players for Orlando, Vegas

If you've spent the past few weeks fretting over the loss of NBA basketball in your life, don't worry: A kinda-sorta OK facsimile is headed your way.

As everyone league-wide attempts to sort through the latest free-agency drama, the NBA Summer League season gets underway Saturday in Orlando. A yearly gathering of rookies, second-year players and myriad hangers-on hoping to catch a coach's eye, the NBA Summer League is something to behold.

For most, the Orlando Summer League is something of a warm-up for the true craziness in Vegas. Every year, league executives, media members and players use the Vegas Summer League as a convenient reason to make a midsummer trip to Sin City. Some of the best unprintable stories in NBA lore have happened during that week-and-a-half extravaganza, and the reunion atmosphere can often get the ball rolling on some huge moves.

You cannot put league executives from almost every NBA team in the same city together without talking shop. Everyone is also conveniently due to arrive in one of our great American cities the day after the league-wide free-agency moratorium ends. Just know that almost every rumor you hear between July 11 and the end of the month was probably spawned poolside at some beautiful Vegas hotel.

The Orlando and Vegas Summer Leagues also serve, you know, an actual purpose and stuff. There's actual basketball being played. The competition is rarely pristine. Team defensive concepts are a mess because players are thrown together having never been on the floor together. Individual commitment to defense tops your typical All-Star Game, but not by that much.

Players in the summer are, for the most part, out to help out themselves. Every year, there are a handful of undrafted players who parlay their impressive performances in Orlando or Vegas into a training camp spot. Jeremy Lin is among the most recent examples.

Teams and analysts largely do not take big summer stats seriously. And they shouldn't. What's on the table the next few weeks is an opportunity to show just enough flashes to get a look when it really counts. Go head-to-head with Andrew Wiggins and play him to a draw, and you might receive a call when it comes time for camp.

Speaking of Wiggins: He and the remaining first-round rookies are the overarching reason for this event. It's their first showcase on the so-called NBA level, and everyone should look forward to wild overanalysis of every shot. Should Wiggins get outperformed by Jabari Parker—and the two play in their first Vegas game on July 11—expect a whole lot of "told you so" from the Parker contingent. Should the opposite happen, Jason Kidd will probably demand Wiggins be traded to Milwaukee and threaten to take Adam Silver's commissionership if it doesn't happen.

Vegas is weird, man.

But the important thing is knowing the names and faces we'll all be seeing the next few weeks. Below is a summer roster for every NBA team and information on when and where you can catch the action from Vegas and Orlando.

Summer League Information

Dates: July 5-11 (Orlando), July 11-21 (Las Vegas)

Watch: NBA Summer League Pass, NBA TV (schedule to be determined)

Summer League Rosters

A couple notes here. Not every team has announced its full roster at this time. In cases where only a handful of players have been confirmed, those teams have been left off for now. In cases where a majority of the roster has been decided, I put them in so fans can at least get a glimpse of what's to come. All information is via NBA releases and the indispensable HoopsHype
