It's July and we play football again in two months. If this video doesn't get you excited for the 2009 season nothing will. I'm All In are you?

Does anyone think Devin Gardner is an athlete? Check out this video and see what you think. He might be one of the best WR's in the nation. Maybe Tate can throw to him for a couple of years at WR until he is ready for the QB position? Here is video of Devin from a recent Detroit camp:

  • Jordan Morgan's parents let us know how his surgery went:
Thank you to everyone who offered good wishes and prayers for Jordan. His surgery went very well and we are on track for a complete, speedy recovery! Your support is greatly appreciated.

  • I know Brandon Graham has a high upside for next year's draft, but this was surprising. The Sporting News has a new 2010 Mock NFL Draft out and has Graham as the No. 3 pick in the draft.

  • Recruiting insiders say that Detroit Cass Tech cornerback Dior Mathis is now favoring Oregon and Michigan State. Cass Tech has been a feeder school to Michigan the last few years and Dior plays a position of need for the Wolverines and Coach Rod in the 2010 class.

Since this is the Fourth of July weekend, I thought I would chime in on the overall "panic" I have been hearing regarding the number of three-star guys that have committed to Michigan so far this year. (Star's - Fourth of July get it?) Here are some reasons not to be concerned:

  • First off, coaches really don't pay that much attention to star ratings and are looking more for fits for their offense or defense.
  • When RR and Staff starting recruiting most of these kids, they didn't have a rankings/ratings anyway.
  • Most services will give a guy a minimum of three stars if they are recruited by major programs.
  • These kids were ranked and rated on what they did as juniors. Today's three-star players could be four stars by signing day.
