UCF Fan Goes Certifiably Insane After Jacksonville Jaguars Pick Blake Bortles

Dan CarsonTrending Lead WriterMay 9, 2014

You might think you're a Blake Bortles fan, but you're not half the fan this man is.

Making the first (somewhat) surprising selection of the 2014 NFL draft, the Jacksonville Jaguars used their No. 3 pick on the QB from UCF.

Saying Central Florida fans were "delighted" by the Jags' selection would be an understatement. Take a look at the reaction one Bortles supporter demonstrated on live television.

According to Pete Blackburn of NextImpulseSports.com, the man in question was one of many UCF fans from a bar in Oviedo, Florida.

Also, let’s not forget this guy. This is a bold move.

Yep, that's a lot of Bortle boys and Bortle babes getting raucous in anticipation of their star player making the big, two-hour move to Jacksonville.

As Blackburn points out, Bortles staying instate might be the best thing for all of us.

"In all fairness," Blackburn writes, "this was pretty much my exact same reaction when I realized that Bortles' girlfriend, Lindsey Duke, would be remaining in a warm weather state."

Indeed, Duke needs warmth and water like penguins need ice. As for Bortles, I'm sure he's up to the challenge.

The Oviedo native is looking to beat out Chad Henne, Ricky Stanzi and Matt Scott for a job in Jacksonville. It's not exactly the stiffest competition, and as long as Bortles doesn’t get injured or Gabbert it up, he should be fine.

The speed and physicality of the NFL presents a big transition for college quarterbacks, but Blake is the kind of player who takes his licks and keeps rolling. You have to be big and durable to go under center for the Jaguars, and he just might be the man for the job.
