Welcome to Bleacher Report's recap of WWE Main Event. Here is where we take a look at what happened on the show, examining the winners, reactions to matches and any possible ramifications coming out of the program.

Main Event went back to the three-match setup this week, but unfortunately none of the matches lived up to the name Main Event, which is sad since one of the matches featured two former world champions facing off.

This week also featured a promo from John Cena in a rare Main Event appearance that saw him address Bray Wyatt's speech from Raw.

Let's take a look at what went down on the show this week.

Jack Swagger vs. Dolph Ziggler

This was a decent match, but it's easy to expect more out of these two than what we got. With the skills Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger have, this could have been an A+ bout.

While it wasn't a match-of-the-year candidate, it was still pretty entertaining. Swagger and Ziggler used to team together, so they know each other very well.

Adam Rose and his crew came out to piss off Zeb Colter and distract Jack Swagger long enough for Ziggler to get the win.

Ziggler took some big bumps, but that did not dissuade him from joining Adam Rose's conga line after the match was over.

Winner: Dolph Ziggler

Grade: B

Notes and Highlights:

  • I love how Zeb Colter is taking notes at the commentary table. It makes it seem like he is actually doing something.
  • Are we supposed to believe that Colter didn't know if Cesaro was legal to be in the U.S.?
  • Ziggler's dropkick definitely connected with Swagger's face. One kick to the head deserves another, I guess.
  • Ziggler took one of the worst falls over the top rope I have ever seen. He hit the ring post and the steel steps on his way down, and he continued the match like a trooper.
  • Then he took another big fall over the top after a hip toss. Nobody takes a bump like Dolph Ziggler.
  • Why is the graduation cap and gown the funniest out of all the outfits worn by Rose's crew?
  • I wonder how the Leo Kruger character would have done in WWE?

Twitter Reaction:

Natalya and The Funkadactyls vs. Foxsana and Tamina

This match did not last that long, but it wasn't bad for what it was. Every woman got to be legal one time, and some of them made the most of the minutes they had.

You have to take what you can get with these quick matches. Nobody will remember this match in a few days, but it did not come off as bad as many other Divas matches we have seen.

Naomi came in at the end and got the win with a split-leg moonsault, but it was the modified piledriver she hit on Aksana that really got my attention.

Aksana was draped over the middle rope, and Naomi put her head into the mat in a fashion very similar to a piledriver. While this was probably the safest possible version of the move, it still resembled a piledriver.

Natalya and Cameron had a bit of friction after the match, which is basically just because they had a fight on Total Divas about losing Natalya's cat.

Winners: Natalya and The Funkadactyls

Grade: C-

Notes and Highlights:

  • I think Alicia Fox is slowly becoming my favorite Diva—not my favorite female wrestler, but favorite Diva. She is very athletic, has made significant improvements in the ring and she's drop-dead gorgeous.
  • I also might have George Costanza Syndrome. I want a woman who is taller than me. While Foxy is still five inches too short, she is about as close as a Diva gets.

Twitter Reaction:

Goldust vs. Curtis Axel

This segment was less about the match than it was about the story developing between Goldust and Cody Rhodes, which meant the match was average.

Goldust picked up a quick win over a very aggressive Curtis Axel. Cody ended up saving Goldust from an attack with a Disaster Kick that went right over Goldust and nailed Ryback, which allowed Goldust to get back in the ring and beat Axel with the Final Cut.

Cody and Goldust celebrated after the match, but what's happening here is developing into something interesting. Goldust has been picking up victories while Cody has had a couple of matches go south when Goldust got involved.

Eventually, this will turn into a jealousy storyline where Cody feels like he should be winning, leading to a heel turn.

Winner: Goldust

Grade: C+

Notes and Highlights:

  • Goldust is not just good for his age; he is good period. I hope I am in half as good of shape as he is at 45.
  • Rybaxel is growing on me, but why does WWE insist on that terrible mashup of their entrance songs?

Twitter Reaction:

John Cena Promo

John Cena came out and addressed Bray Wyatt's promo from Raw, specifically the parts about him wanting to burn the world down and how he thinks of himself as a god.

This was pretty average stuff from Cena. He cracked a joke, raised his voice and then looked serious. It's a pattern he has fallen into.

Cena and Wyatt are a good match, but Cena needs to step up his game a bit. The same old stuff won't fly when he is up against one of the best talkers WWE has today.

Grade: C

Notes and Highlights:

  • Put a little twang in his voice, and John Cena could be better than half the country musicians out there. Then again, I am not a country fan, so that probably insulted all the country fans out there.
  • I apologize from the bottom of my achy, breaky heart.
  • How appropriate that Cena is considered a kid's character and his shirt looks like the slime from Nickelodeon awards shows?
