There is always time for a few transfer rumours, though, and we'll be keeping track of all of them here throughout the week.

Manuel Pellegrini has ruled out the possibility of Sergio Aguero leaving Manchester City.

The Chilean told the Manchester Evening News that he feels that his forward is happy in Manchester, saying:

I don't think the idea of Sergio is to leave Manchester City.

Sergio is very happy here. You never know what can happen in the future, but he is a very important player here.

Big clubs do not sell their best players and I don't think Sergio will be going anywhere.

The Scotsman claims that City have joined Manchester United in the race to sign Celtic defender Virgil van Dijk in the summer.

Van Dijk impressed in the Champions League against Barcelona and AC Milan, and has been tipped to move away from the Scottish giants.

    His agent Henk-Maarten Chin said:

There is certainly interest. Many English clubs are interested in him – the absolute top clubs. They watch him and are very keen. There has been no official approaches for Virgil yet, but that will come after the season ends.
