Manchester City are the firm favourites to land the Capital One Cup trophy, but Gus Poyet's Sunderland are more than equipped to challenge Manuel Pellegrini's men all the way to the final whistle.

The Black Cats enjoyed a thrilling semi-final victory over Manchester United on their way to Wembley, while City destroyed West Ham to land their place in the showpiece match.

Naturally, we got too excited and simulated the upcoming final on an Xbox One copy of FIFA 14.

Can Sunderland do the unthinkable? Will City comfortably capture their first major trophy of the season? Let's find out.

Manchester City v Sunderland: FIFA 14 Highlights

FINAL SCORE: Manchester City 1-0 Sunderland (Alvaro Negredo)

Well, there we have it. City put last year's FA Cup final loss behind them with a comfortable scoreline at Wembley.

Although the scoreline suggests a close game, it could have been much worse for Sunderland.

Poyet's team managed just a duo of attempts on target, both of which were easily saved by Joe Hart. City struck the post twice with opportunities that should have easily resulted in goals, while Negredo will be disappointed not to have netted a hat-trick.

Will Pellegrini's men triumph so easily in the real match?
