Watch Jadeveon Clowney Run 40-Yard Dash at NFL Scouting Combine

Defensive end Jadeveon Clowney is hoping to go No. 1 in the 2014 NFL draft, and he certainly helped his case with an impressive showing in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine on Monday.

There were high hopes for the former South Carolina star's 40-yard dash. As Yahoo Sports' Anwar S. Richardson wrote, Clowney was aiming to run a 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds.

According to NFL.com's Daniel Jeremiah, Clowney was officially recorded at 4.53 seconds:

Clowney put up a very impressive—but unofficial—time of 4.47 seconds on his first attempt:

On his second attempt, the 6'5", 262-pounder posted an unofficial time of 4.48 seconds:
