Arsenal is the betting favorite in their midweek match against Manchester United, but can they get over their last game, an embarrassing thrashing against Liverpool?

The Gunners fell out of first place with a feeble 5-1 loss over the weekend, but most oddsmakers monitored by Odds Shark seem to believe the Gunners can rebound.

Most shops had Arsenal at +110 at home with Manchester United at +275 and a draw line of +250 as of Tuesday, according to the Arsenal-United matchup report.

With the Gunners' loss to the Reds, they now sit in second place in the EPL table, just one point behind Chelsea. Manchester United have not had a good EPL season, sitting in seventh place 15 points back of Chelsea.

In their last two matches, Manchester United have a loss and a draw. In their last match, they played to an astonishing home 2-2 draw facing a Fulham squad that sits dead last in the league table.

After their 5-1 drubbing against Liverpool, Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta told reporters that manager Arsene Wenger “was the angriest I have seen him.” That's not surprising since Arsenal was down 4-0 after only 20 minutes of play.

Arsenal lost one other match badly this season, which was 6-3 to Manchester City in mid-December. However, the Gunners responded with an eight-match unbeaten streak that was snapped by Liverpool.

United have not looked like a typical Red Devils squad, as they have had big issues on both sides of the pitch and have already lost five home matches. They have given up two goals in each of their last two matches.

Robin van Persie, who has scored a goal in each of the last two games, is back on the pitch after missing time with an injury. But while he and Wayne Rooney lead an offense that has been solid, the defense has been extremely porous.

Arsenal scoring leader Olivier Giroud, Arteta and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be counted on at home to provide the offensive spark for the Gunners.

Expect the Gunners to display a superior effort in the midfield than they did against Liverpool. Earlier this season at Old Trafford, United beat Arsenal 1-0.

Prediction: 1-1 draw
