The final piece of the 2014 Pro Bowl puzzle came together on Wednesday, Jan. 22, when Jerry Rice and Deion Sanders filled out their teams with Day 2 of the draft.

Looking to revamp the Pro Bowl, the NFL opted to follow the NHL route and have a draft. Gone is the idea of players representing their respective conferences. Instead, it was like a real-life version of fantasy football, as Rice and Sanders took turns choosing between the best players in the league.

The draft wasn't for everybody, but give the NFL credit for trying something new to add a new dimension to what has become a stale All-Star Game.

With the first overall pick, Team Sanders surprised few by selecting Indianapolis Colts QB Andrew Luck, per Bleacher Report:

Luck was one of the best quarterbacks available, and Team Sanders is also coached by Colts head coach Chuck Pagano. Sure it's just a meaningless game, but it's nice when your starting quarterback already knows the coach's playbook.

With the second overall pick, Team Rice went with Jimmy Graham. It brought the tight end together with his quarterback Drew Brees after Rice selected Brees as one of his two co-captains.

Graham knows the pressure that comes with such a high honor, and he's determined to repay both Rice and Brees' faith.

As you'd expect, there was a premium on the skill positions. Sanders and Rice were quick to snap up the likes of Cam Newton, LeSean McCoy, Dez Bryant, A.J. Green and Josh Gordon all went within the first five rounds.

There was a cool moment when Sanders picked Patrick Peterson, a cornerback who wears No. 21 and is a similar athlete to "Prime Time." It was like looking at the past and present when it comes to two of the best corners of their generation:

In what's also a nice bit of drama, Peterson will line up against his teammate, Larry Fitzgerald, after the star wideout was assigned to Team Rice. Darren Urban of AZCardinals.com thinks it will feel like the two are in practice again:

On the whole, it looks like Team Sanders gets the edge.

"Prime Time" has a great QB combo between Luck and Newton, as Luck brings the arm and Newton brings the legs.

They'll be throwing the ball to Bryant and Green, the top two receivers taken on Day 2. DeSean Jackson and Antonio Brown round out a solid group of wideouts.

Sanders was also able to address the defensive side of the ball, taking Peterson with the fifth overall pick and complementing him with Darrelle Revis and Brent Grimes. Eric Berry will also prowl the secondary at the safety position.
