Joe Mixon ranks among the most coveted uncommitted players in the country. The 5-star running back took a stride toward his decision Tuesday, identifying four finalists on Twitter.

He revealed UCLA, California, Wisconsin and Oklahoma as the programs still under his consideration. The Freedom High School (Oakley, Calif.) star has garnered nationwide attention during a whirlwind recruiting process.

Mixon's other offers include Ohio State, Notre Dame, Florida State, Clemson and Georgia. In a slight surprise, USC is not among his finalists.

He caused a stir Monday afternoon when he announced on Twitter that the Trojans were in the mix after hiring Steve Sarkisian. Mixon spent an official visit at Washington with Sarkisian and company in September.

Unfortunately for Trojans fans, it appears his flirtation with USC was fleeting.

Mixon has used official visits to get a better indication of where he may want to play. Aside from Washington, the playmaker spent time at Cal, Florida, Wisconsin, Oklahoma and Florida State.

He was at UCLA on an unofficial visit in late November. The team returned the favor Monday when several Bruins coaches showed up at Mixon's house.

247Sports ranks Mixon as the No. 1 all-purpose back in America and the top prospect in California. He is listed as the nation's 11th-best overall recruit.
