The Broncos (9-1) defeat the Chiefs (9-1) in convincing fashion, 27-17, to give Kansas City their first loss of the season.

Although the game was never a blowout, the Broncos demonstrated that they are indeed a step above their AFC West rivals.

The Chiefs came in with the No. 1 defense in the NFL, leading the league in sacks, points per game and turnovers forced. They didn't sack Peyton Manning a single time in this game (barely even touched him), allowed 15 more points than their season average and forced just one turnover.

All of the talk leading into this game was about Manning's injured ankle. It's safe to say that it was typical overblown jargon by the media to cause more fuss than needed.

What did this game prove?

It proved the Chiefs are a good team. But it proved the Broncos are better. The Broncos will visit Arrowhead to face the Chiefs for the second in three weeks in Week 13.

In the meantime, the Broncos visit Foxboro to play the New England Patriots in Week 12, while the Chiefs go back to Arrowhead to play the San Diego Chargers next Sunday.
