As you know, during the race yesterday, NASCAR on Fox gave grades to the race teams on their performance so far this season.

The Beat Mike Network (BMN) did agree with some of the grades that Fox gave, but it's BMN's turn now to give them their grades for the first third of the season:

Hendrick Motorsports

Fox gave them an A-. BMN gives them an A. The reason why Hendrick got an A was because they had four wins by three teams this season and it was two of their engines that won them the race at Talladega and the Sprint All-Star Race. Impressive job by the team got them the grade that they got.

Stewart-Haas Racing

Fox gave them an A-. BMN gives them an A-. The reason why they got an A- was because they improved their team from last year.

Stewart came in and helped get the team were they are now. He also brought in Ryan Newman to drive the second car and both cars are doing well, compared to how the No. 66 and No. 70 did last year at this time. Stewart also won the Sprint All-Star Race.

Joe Gibbs Racing

Fox gave them a B+. BMN gives them a B. The reason why they got a B was because even though they only won three races so far this year with Kyle Busch, it's his attitude when he doesn't win a race that caused the lower grade.

Joey Logano's performance at the beginning of the season was not great because of his experience, but over time, he will get better and begin to win races.

I do not remember what these teams got for grades from Fox, but I will give you BMN's grades.

Roush-Fenway Racing

BMN gives them a B. The reason why they got a B was because after the first two races of the season, the team began to fell back and the drivers have not been performing up to par from a year ago, especially Carl Edwards.

Richard Childress Racing

BMN gives them a C+. The reason why they got a C+ was because they have been struggling to win races this season and have not been performing the way they have been last year.

Richard Petty Motorsports

BMN gives them a C. The reason why they got a C was because they have more work that needs to be done, in order to get the teams to compete out there.

Earnhardt-Ganassi Racing

BMN gives them a D+. The reason why they got a D+ was because they dropped from having three to two teams and the performance of the teams. They have a lot of work to do to compete with the others.

Penske Racing

BMN gives them a C. The reason why they got a C was because even though they struggled through 2008, there is a light coming through that things are going to get better for Penske.

Michael Waltrip Racing

BMN gives them a C. The reason why they got a C was even though the team is getting better, they still have a bit of work to do to make it out there. I do give them credit with David Reutimann's win yesterday in the Coca-Cola 600 and being six points out of 12th place.

I would like to hear your opinions about the grades. I will do this again after Week 24 or 26.
