Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
There have been cries for a quarterback to replace Brandon Weeden, especially after backup Brian Hoyer tore his ACL during Week 5 against the Buffalo Bills. Jason Campbell is the only other quarterback on Cleveland’s roster.
Earlier this week, rumors about a Tebow sighting at the Cleveland airport surfaced (via Pro Football Talk), which unleashed speculation that the Browns would sign Tebow.
After playing for the Denver Broncos for his first two seasons and the New York Jets in 2012, Tebow is currently a free agent. The three-time All-American has struggled in finding a new home. Although Tebowmania has passed, the media frenzy still follows him no matter what team he plays for and Tebow has constantly struggled with his passing game.
It seemed like Hoyer’s injury or an injury to EJ Manuel of the Buffalo Bills could lead to some need for Tebow. However, with one team out his hopes at another shot are looking slim.
The other main free agent at quarterback is Vince Young, who was released from the Green Bay Packers in the preseason.
In early September, The Toronto Sun reported that Tim Tebow had rejected offers from the Canadian Football League, and he seems insistent on continuing his career in the United States.
It is becoming more likely that Tebow has to sit a season out before returning to the NFL lineup.
