Michael Waltrip: Goodness, Gaseous, Great Balls of Fire!

Kara MartinSenior Analyst IMay 10, 2009

On Apr. 30, Michael Waltrip celebrated his 46th birthday in style by guest starring (as himself) on NBC's popular sitcom My Name Is Earl.

Waltrip was involved in a plot to help Earl Hickey and his brother Randy prove that they were not responsible for the disappearance of Ernie Belcher, owner of Ernie's Crab Shack.

Flashback scenes from a Geraldo Rivera's Inside Probe feature Waltrip hanging out with the cast's key players as the mystery unfolds.

Michael returns to the town of Camden to re-enact the night of Ernie's disappearance, which happens to be the very night that he meets Earl and Randy.

Michael thinks the pair are fun to hang out with and after the brothers get hammer drunk at the Crab Shack, agrees to be their "designated two-time Daytona 500 winning driver."

"Being a bit of a shutterbug," Michael had his camera with him and got a "pretty complete record of what happened that night.

The show ends with Geraldo revealing, "With that air tight alibi from a two time Daytona 500 winner, the Hickey boys were released from jail and sent home to their loved ones."

One of Waltrip's photographs highlighted on Geraldo's "Inside Probe," caught Michael in this compromising position, lighting his own fart.

How on earth could he ever top that?

Sequels are designed to be bigger, badder, and better than the original.

After witnessing Michael "blowing the bottom out of his engine" during Darlington's Southern 500....

I can't help but wonder if Michael is still in the zone, continuing his studies and refining his craft?

Yeah, I went there.
