NFL, Green Bay Packers, Brett Favre, Editorial

This is getting very old.

It seems everyday there is a new Brett Favre story from some "source" that is close to his agent, or Brett himself telling a small newspaper back home some outlandish garbage about coming back.

Well I am sick and tired of it.

This will be about the sixth offseason in a row where Brett dominates the headlines up until the draft and keeps the Green Bay Packers future on hold. I thought like many others he had decided this last month. Now here he is again playing to the media that won't let him go.

I say enough is enough.

Brett now says that if Aaron Rodgers gets hurt he would have to consider coming back to the Pack. Great move Brett, now we can all wait for the upcoming Tonya Harding attack on Rodgers. Let me guess what Brett will say next: 'if Rodgers throws a pick in the first quarter of the preseason that Brett may come back to save the Packers again.' Spare me.

Brett Favre is acting very selfish right now. If he did not want to retire he shouldn't have. Period. I am not saying the man does not have the right to come back—he most certainly does. But do it already or let it go so the Packers and Aaron Rodgers can move on with a future.

Hell even bringing up the thought of Rodgers getting hurt was out of line almost like he hopes it happens. Nice touch champ.

You know now there will be Cheese Heads who will root for it to happen. The already enormous pressure on Aaron Rodgers just got a ton worse.

I say that this is the last time I will mention Brett Favre ever again until he either suits up again and jerks everyone around for another season, or he goes into the Hall Of Fame in five years. I am sick of it and the sentiment is growing—it's time to put up or shut up or hopefully just go away.

  1. Yeh......all Favre's done has answer the question. Agreed...stupid article...

  2. What a stupid article.

    1. coming from a guy with 2 articles I take that as a compliment

  3. The question that they asked was "Would you come back if A-rod got injured and the Packers asked you?" He said it'd be tempted... the question was not "Are you thinking of coming back?" Just another example of the media being board and making a mountain out of a mole hill

  4. I have to agree with Tim. All of the "Brett may come back" reports are just some guy's opinion in Mississippi who is trying to land a front page article, like this one. If you don't like Favre, fine, you don't like him. But who would be gullible enough to believe every report in a paper? Give sources in order to back all allegations, and consider those sources before buying into them! I’m not saying I don’t believe your story at all (I might possibly believe 50% of it), but your credibility will be backed and I’ll have a greater capacity to believe the allegations of “if Rogers gets hurt” if you could simply cite your sources!

    1. This was reported all over the sports world every sports outlet had a story about this I did not write a story based on sources that were given to me I read reports saw reports and I gave my opinion on how sick I am of the brett favre story .

  5. He isn't coming back... he just isn't. He and his agent have flatly denied asking about his trade value or anything else...

Move on, Aaron Rodgers. You've got big shoes to fill, so stop looking into your rear view mirror.

  6. Brett Favre is selfish. He should just shut the **** up insetad of trying to stir stuff up.

  7. Wow John,
    you got problems dude.

If I bothered worrying about news that annoys me I could write 100,000 shitty articles like you wrote.

Get outside, find a new interest and in the words of William Shatner ... "Get a life"

    Peace out

    1. I have quite a life thanks for asking.

  8. I genuinely think Favre's having second thoughts. He's a big boy and has dealt with the media going on 20 years. Rather than speculate on the possible scenarios that would cause him to come out of retirement (Aaron Rodgers getting hurt), he should have just punted on the question. Hell, if he was serious about retiring, he would have passed on the entire interview.

  9. Even IF Favre were considering it, and making comments about it, so friggin what. It's not like none of us have ever wavered on a decision before. Whether it's what to eat, or get back with an ex, or buy or sell a car, or house, etc...... How many times do we say to someone, "I wonder if I did the right thing", or "maybe I want to get back together with so and so".

However, what I said is basically irrelevant because it's the media who asks the questions, Favre just answers them. What do you want him to say? "No comment?"

  10. We are getting mad at Brett for being the guy we all love him for... an honest going person. He did the article because that Al Jones guy has been there through it all for Brett so he agreed to do it. And when he did, he answered the questions like the honest man he is... he never wished on Arods health, nor said he was coming back. He answered the questions just like anyone who just retired would have. He also added some insight about playing football about you just cant show up on sundays. If people would take it how its meant instead of taking their own meanings from it, we'd have a lot better world today.

  11. Who gives a shit about Favre. Packers suck.

    Two words: Interception Record

  12. Taco, you're an idiot. Brett Favre has more quarterback records on the books than any other player in history. Let me guess, you are a bitter Bears fan, right?

  13. I don't care about the packers or favre, but this is the worst article I've ever read.

  14. WOW - this is a very poorly written article. I guess anyone can write on the internet!

  15. Dude, shut up Favre can do what he wants. Plus this is the most boring, lame "article" I've ever read. Thanks buddy.

  16. This should be taken down from the internet - we all would be thankful!

  17. If you all can write better do it you punks

  18. Wow, if you are so offended by the stuff that happens with Brett Favre after every season the past 6 years, maybe you shouldn't get caught up in it and write such crappy articles with no taste. But then again, maybe you never had any taste of being a professional writer?

  19. John = Big Loser

  20. Wow...I'm shocked by how many people are viciously attacking you for writing this article. I may not agree with you, but I'm certainly not going to verbally abuse you. Those people must be Packer fans clinging to hope that Favre might come back.

I think this whole thing was kind of overblown by the media as so many things are, but Bret needs to recognize what an impact his comments can have and be a little smarter about what he says.

  21. It shows the Intelligence factor when they resort to anyonymous insults. I have even had my life threatened on here that is cool though My real name and city are on here and I am in the Arlington Texas phone book any one of these guys can look me up and come say this to my face but that will not happen period

  22. I bet all these anonymous posters are the same lame ass dude just posting over again some came in clustered together, this is fun

  23. Intelligence factor? I guess your misrepresentation of the way things transpired is indicative of your intelligence, right? Or maybe it is your character. Either way, you've got no business getting offended for other people tearing you apart on here. You did the same thing to Favre, and did so while inaccurately reporting what happened.

    1. where did I complain?I even said that is cool read the comment dumbass.

  24. I am not offended at all just making note of things like threats.

  25. Ah, there it is...you're a piece of shit Cowboys fan!!! I agree with most here; ask the question & Brett, as he's always done, will answer it honestly. Maybe you should go write about the latest gangsta the 'boys are gonna sign or Romo & his whore. Those seem to be more up your alley! BTW, name is Mark & we're 2000 miles apart so you'll excuse me if I don't come over to play.

    1. reda the Bio dickhead I am not a fucking cowgirls fan I just happen to live in Texas that just shows what a fucking dumbass retard you actually are. just beacuse I live here does not mean I root for the convict ass team get a life you stupid cocksucker

  26. read the bio that is fuckface

  27. Damn, you're excitable! Hey, just 'cause you CLAIM not to be a 'boys fan doesn't mean that you're not one. Plus, I have no interest in reading your 'bio' - you're a nobody, that's all I need to know. It's guys like you that give stories like these legs. If no one asked the dumb questions and 'writers' (achem) like you didn't bitch about the answers, it would be a non issue. Seriously, think about it instead of bashing the toughest guy to ever play! Regards, Fuckface/Dickhead

    1. this is the funniest post ever noone has ever accused me of liking the cowgirls before. you are a total moron and I think you are funny you must be someone I know breaking my balls.

  28. "noone has ever accused me of liking the cowgirls before" I'm sure they haven't! So, if I understand this right, you like the boys but not the girls? Now it makes sense, now I get it 'cause only a fag would bash Favre. I believe you, I'm pretty sure no one has accused you of liking the cowgirls before! Or any other girls for that matter. I now know why you're so fustrated, no guys in tight pants to watch for awhile. Take your sexual tension to a forum more suited to your needs 'cause, even though I'm a Packers fan, I freely admit to LOVING the cowgirls!!

    Cheers, Fuckface/Dickhead/Moron

    1. and only a moron cocksucking fudgepacker would jump right to gay comments have a nice day

  29. Yeah John, saying "if you can write better, do it punks" clearly indicates their comments didn't bother you.

    1. just making a point it's easy to hide behind anonymous comments.and no picture of yoourself

  30. yourself that is
