David Stern went out amid a chorus of boos and one huge smile.
The NBA commissioner walked to the podium for the last time, going out with style, class and a great deal of humor.
Maybe it's just me, but the boos seemed louder than they've been in the past, as if the fans understood this was their last moment to let Stern have it.
While the level of vitriol might be open to some conjecture, there is no doubt Stern is really enjoyed this draft more than most, smiling and invigorating a rabid bunch in the stands.

I'm not the only one to notice Stern's epic demeanor, because all of Twitter is sounding off on a commissioner who seemed so close to winking with each and every pick.
Stern continued to savor each and every boo bird blasting him from the cheap seats. He soaked boos up as if they were rays of sunshine on some future trip he might take in retirement.
In fact, I have never seen a man so happy to get booed.
Who said this draft was bereft of stars?
In his last draft, Stern showed his trademark smirk and gave long pauses before announcing picks, both of which seemed to be a bull's eye for all the fans' boos. So far, the biggest star of the night has been Stern.
