Ah, the perks of having Jay-Z—the modern-day Renaissance Man—as your agent.
Skylar Diggins, the third overall pick in the 2013 WNBA draft, completed yet another impressive milestone Sunday afternoon, as she graduated from the University of Notre Dame.
The burgeoning star even had time to send out a picture of herself in her cap and gown:
Diggins also displayed her excitement with this tweet:
But with that crowning achievement, the future Tulsa Shock guard didn't just make her family proud. She didn't just receive a very valuable piece of paper (aka, a diploma). She earned a new Mercedes, courtesy of Jay-Z and Roc Nation Sports, for her hard work and dedication over the past four years:
Don't ever say that Jay Z's new management group never took care of its clients. I've seen some fancy graduation presents before, but this is difficult to top.
Moreover, gifts like these should only help the new agency persuade more young talent.
Of course, that's not to suggest it's struggling for attention. Not only was Robinson Cano, one of the best players in all of Major League Baseball, its first client, but it has also snatched up New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz and made a play at rookie quarterback Geno Smith.
It's still early, but I'd say Jay-Z is proving to be pretty good at this sports management thing...although it doesn't exactly hurt when you can afford to buy a Mercedes-Benz as a graduation present.
The, ahem, allure of signing with one of the most famous artists of all time is already undoubtedly great, but if Shawn Carter continues to treat his clients like this, he will soon have his pick of the most talented young players in the world.
