10 Scorching MLB Takes 🌶️

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
Dexter was on yesterday’s Speed Demon report because of his five SB game. He also scored 7 Runs over the past week while hitting .400 (8 for 20). He is owned in 30.7 percent of ESPN and 64 percent of Yahoo leagues, which is up from 16.5 percent and 48 percent respectively, just yesterday.
Rod Barajas, Toronto Blue Jays
Barajas is firing on all cylinders. He went 10 for 25 (.400) with seven runs, two HR, and seven RBI last week. He is owned in just 2.3 percent of ESPN and 8 percent of Yahoo leagues, which blows my mind because he’s a catcher. Not many catchers rake like that. He also could help out in the RBI category.
Russell Branyan, Seattle Mariners
Branyan had a solid past week going 10 for 20 (.500) with seven runs, two HRs, and seven RBI. He qualifies at both 1B and 3B, which helps his value. He is owned in 11.8 percent of ESPN and 35 percent of Yahoo leagues. He also could help out in the RBI category.
Gary Matthews, Jr., Los Angeles Angels
Gary is taking advantage of Vladimir Guerrero’s injury. Last week he went 7 for 21 (.333) with seven runs and two RBI. You’d like him to contribute in other categories a little more, but he should be a decent source for runs while Vlad is out. He is owned in 1.5 percent of ESPN and 2 percent of Yahoo leagues.
RBI
Kendry Morales, Los Angeles Angels
Kendry went 8 for 22 (.364) last week with five runs, two HRs, and eight RBI. He qualifies at both 1B and OF, which gives you some flexibility. He is owned in 4.2 percent of ESPN and 24 percent of Yahoo leagues.
Plácido Polanco, Detroit Tigers
Plácido went 8 for 30 (.267) with three runs and seven RBI last week. I’d prefer more runs and a higher average out of a second baseman, but the RBI were nice. He is owned in 90.3 percent of ESPN leagues, but just 51 percent of Yahoo ones.
Yuniesky Betancourt, Seattle Mariners
Here’s a Shortstop with seven RBI over the past week. He didn’t do much else, hitting .231 (6 for 26) with one run, one HR, and one SB. On the year he’s hitting .292, though, so don’t worry about that average. He is owned in 3.6 percent of ESPN and 9 percent of Yahoo leagues.
