Manchester United have joined the race to sign Colombian international striker Radamel Falcao from Atletico Madrid. Manager Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to offer Mexican forward Javier Hernandez plus £27 million in cash for the £47 million-rated Falcao (via Daily Mail).
Falcao (pictured), 27, joined Atletico from Porto in 2011. He has scored 22 La Liga goals in 27 appearances this season. Manchester City and Chelsea are also interested, according to the report.
Hernandez, 24, has scored eight goals in 16 Premier League appearances, 10 as a substitute. He joined United from Chivas in 2010.
Previous reports suggested United have already made a down payment for Falcao, but the Daily Mail reports that United have only recently shown interest.
According to talkSPORT, Atletico manager Diego Simeone has rejected reports linking Falcao to United.
