Barcelona to Use Alexis Sanchez as Bait for Manchester City's Vincent Kompany?
Barcelona plan to include Alexis Sanchez in a players-plus-cash deal for Manchester City's Vincent Kompany, according to the Sunday People (via Sunday Mirror).
Kompany, a 26-year-old Belgian international defender, joined City from Hamburg in 2008. The team captain reportedly had a dispute with manager Roberto Mancini last week over international duty. Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are also thought to be interested.
Sanchez, a 24-year-old Chilean winger, joined Barca from Udinese in 2011. Marc Bartra, a Spanish defender, would also be included in the deal, along with cash moving from Barca to City.
Arsenal Closing on Stevan Jovetic, Adrian Lopez? Interested in Iker Casillas?
Arsenal are nearing a deal to sign Montenegrin forward Stevan Jovetic (pictured) from Fiorentina, according to CaughtOffside.com.
The Gunners are also interested in Atletico Madrid's Adrian Lopez, according to the report. Together, the pair would cost £32 million.
Jovetic, 23, has scored 12 Serie A goals this season in 25 appearances. Lopez, 25, has scored three La Liga goals in 23 appearances (13 as a substitute).
Meanwhile, the Daily Star reports that Arsenal are interested in Real Madrid's World Cup-winning goalkeeper Iker Casillas, 31.
Jose Mourinho Heading to PSG?
Jose Mourinho is ready to become manager of Paris Saint-Germain this summer after quitting Real Madrid, according to the Sunday People (via Sunday Mirror).
Mourinho, 50, has managed Real since 2010 and is widely expected to leave the club this summer. He has led Inter Milan and Porto to Champions League titles and Chelsea to two English league titles.
Mourinho also has been linked with a return to Chelsea this summer, and Manchester City are thought to be interested as well. According to the Sunday People, however, Mourinho wants to manage Manchester United after Sir Alex Ferguson, 71, retires.
Gianluigi Buffon to Remain with Juventus Until He Retires?
Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has hinted he will spend the rest of his career with Juventus (via Sky Sports).
Buffon, 35, joined Juve from Parma in 2001. This season, he has played 28 times in Serie A.
"Will I end my career at Juventus? I have extended my contract in January for two additional years," Buffon told L'Equipe. "I believe Juventus is my home. When you stay so long in a club you create very strong links with people at the club. You feel like being part of a family. I don't know when I will hang up my boots."
Mario Balotelli Caught Smoking on Train?
AC Milan are set to fine Italian international forward Mario Balotelli after Balotelli was caught smoking Saturday on a train to Florence (via Goal.com).
The players were traveling to play Fiorentina on Sunday when Balotelli was seen smoking in a toilet. Since joining AC Milan from Manchester City in January, Balotelli has scored seven Serie A goals in seven appearances.
La Gazzetta dello Sport quotes one of the train's attendants as saying, "Maybe you have to pull Balotelli's ears, because he was smoking in the toilet."
