One poor rugby player tried to do a good deed and instead got a face full of nasty.

The  Otago Daily Times (h/t Busted Coverage) reports on a peculiar moment during a preseason rugby match in New Zealand.

The following are a couple of videos showing a streaker taking the field, only to have the Warriors' Ruben Wiki run him down and tackle him, getting far more than he bargained for.

Be warned that some of the photos after the video break are a tad NSFW, though they did make their way onto local publications.

And the crowd at Forsyth Barr Stadium goes wild.

If you want more of a closeup of what went down, here is this lovely picture:

And then there is this wonderful moment when would-be hero of the day gets a face-full of awful, via Vodaphone Warriors' Facebook:

The most unfortunate part of the story, of which there are many, is that this was all for nothing, because the streaker managed to get away for a moment right after (via the Otago Daily Times):

The tackle prompted a roar from the crowd and a finger-waving celebration from Wiki after security guards arrived to take over, but the streaker then managed to wriggle free and continue his dash until caught while trying to scale a fence.

While he was eventually caught, you have to question whether any of this was worth the effort.

I understand players are in danger the second someone comes onto the field, not knowing what a presumed maniac might do. However, when the man rushing the field is completely naked, it might be best to leave this to the professionals.

The moment you try to be a hero, your day can take quiet the unfortunate turn.
