Brian Pattie's quote:

"But Pattie believes his group is focused on the season goals, and looking forward to next month, when all the cars should be the same. So far, Montoya has raced in old Ganassi cars, while Truex is using old DEI cars." end quote.

In other words Earndhard-Ganassi racing will have new chassis in the next month or so  apparently it will improve all the teams performances.

Whoa there Nelly! Ganassi has NOT done well with changes on the #42 team, lets go back review some of the changes this team has made.

After having 7 consecutive top 20 finishes in the beginning of the 2008 season, Chip Ganassi shakes up things by sending the #42 crew chief Donnie Wingo to the failing #41 team driven by Reed Sorenson.

With Jimmy Elledge as the new crew chief for Juan Pablo Montoya, the #42 team goes into Talladega and gets a solid second place finish and puts the team in the chase.

Yippee everybody is happy! Right? Wrong! Soon after, Jimmy Elledge gets fired for insubordination, I understand Jimmie told the "chief of racing operations" what we all, at times, like to tell our bosses. You know? right.

So enters Brian Pattie, by his own admission, clueless about the setting up of the COT car, after all ,he had been working on the Nationwide (Busch) series cars which are very different.

We all know what happened next ,total disaster, multiple 30 something finishes and a few good one in between.

The season went from an "in the chase" after ten races to a total disaster and a step back for Juan Pablo Montoya's NASCAR career.

This is why I'm a little worried about the change to the new chassis, I understand the engine is the same, but the setups has to be different.

Juan Pablo Montoya is having such a great season with the old Ganassi chassis and the new Chevy engine, why mess with it, they're 13 points from the chase with multiple top 10.

I hope they're doing the right thing and hope it doesn't take 15 races and a  downward spiral to the back 30 to figure out this set up.

A fans plea to Chip Ganassi "LEAVE IT ALONE MAN ! LEAVE IT ALONE FOR GODS SAKE!  and as always, I have to say , don't you just love this soap opera called NASCAR? Of course you do! It's just amazing.
