Champ Bailey Will Reportedly Remain with Denver Broncos in 2013

Champ Bailey is reportedly going to remain with the Denver Broncos through this offseason.

Mike Klis of the Denver Post wrote on his Sulia account that Bailey isn't likely to be going anywhere. He also said as much on Twitter:

Almost immediately upon entering the league with the Washington Redskins, Bailey was a great player. The 34-year-old has long been the best corner in the league and will go down as one of the best shutdown cornerbacks in the history of the league. Over his 14-year career, Bailey's made 12 Pro Bowls, seven All-Pro teams and intercepted 52 passes.

He was an absolute nightmare for opposing quarterbacks, as he was able to cover an entire half of the field without the help of a safety for much of his career. Top receivers would be helpless to find themselves any space with which to make a play.

Bailey doesn't look to be that kind of player anymore, though.

Aside from being a cap casualty, the Broncos might have been looking to move Bailey because of his recent struggles in the playoffs. He was absolutely torched by the Baltimore Ravens on multiple occasions.

It was the kind of meltdown rarely ever seen from Bailey.

The trade that sent Bailey to Denver has to be considered one of the best in recent memory. It was one of the rare transactions where both teams parted with a star, as Clinton Portis was sent to the Washington Redskins. Portis did well in Washington, but never equaled what Bailey did in Denver.
