Rallying All Manchester City FC Fans
We have always followed with our hearts, always show a brave face, and always hold our heads up high when our backs are against the wall.
Manchester City FC is not just a football club we choose to support, I know full well it is not. It hurts when we lose and especially when we have to watch mediocre and average performances, individual cowardice, and gutless performances sometimes, in my opinion, but even so, we always support 110 percent—that is what makes us unique.
Well with that said, I have kind of taken a back seat after 30 odd years of disappointment.
My heart is still very much in City, but right now I expect nothing, it is too early to inject extreme amounts of hope and expectation in our club, as always I will support City until my last breathe, but for the sake of my own health, I take a step back and take in the whole picture.
Just looking at the individual performances in certain players and a real good look at the squad list tells a story that we are not anywhere near strong enough to challenge.
Gelson Fernandes, for me, has to be the biggest flop at City with his badly timed tackles and extreme runs that bring up the picture of headless chicken, followed by average performances from Micah Richards, all his mistakes have led to opposition goals.
In my opinion, right now our squad is split into two groups.
Group one: Shay Given, Joe Hart, Wayne Bridge, Pablo Zabaleta, Nedum Onouha, Nigel De Jong, Vincent Kompany, Stephen Ireland, Kelvin Etuhu, Michael Johnson, Martin Petrov, Shaun Wright Phillips, Valeri Bojinov, Craig Bellamy, and Daniel Sturridge.
All have earned their place at City
The rest are just not good enough. So until Mark Hughes has the opportunity to remove bad eggs, we should all sit back and hope for the best.
I am not convinced we can win the Europa Cup now, I was convinced until the mediocre display against Arsenal yesterday.
I have faith that we can make it eventually, but not while we have too many average players. We should not get carried away, caution is all I suggest for your own health.
We only have half a squad right now.
Hughes, you have one transfer window, make it count because I believe you will not get another if you fail.
Stephen Ireland has been the rock of City and without Superman, I do not think we can win the Europa Cup unless Dietmar Hamann miraculously comes back in top form—which I just do not see happening.
I will say this though, I believe Dietmar Hamann has been the one player that has had some influence on our Superman Stevie Ireland. We missed Ireland hugely against Arsenal.
Keep the faith, for next season I believe will be our season.
