Justin Lofton Grabs Second Straight ARCA Re/Max Pole

David PhillipsApr 4, 2009

Eddie Sharpe Racing's Justin Lofton won his second straight Menards Pole Award for the running of the ARCA Re/Max Kentuckian Dealers 200 presented by Federated Car Care on Sunday.

Lofton, who was also the pole winner for the Daytona ARCA race to start the season, mastered the Salem, IN, short track with a time of 16.935 seconds and 117.981 MPH.

"I want to thank Eddie Sharp, Mark Rette and the entire No. 6 team for all their hard work," said Lofton. "It's their pole award, not mine. Hopefully the rain will hold off and we can bring home another trophy tomorrow.

"I'm really excited to have two poles in a row. It shows what the right people in the right organization are capable of. I am looking forward to the 2009 season and many more Menard Ansell Pole Awards."

Starting alongside Lofton will be ESR teammate Criag Goess, with Joey Cutler in third, Patrick Sheltra in fourth, and rounding Parker Kilgerman in fifth.

Other notables include: NASCAR veteran Ken Schrader, who starts sixth, and nine time ARCA Re/Max champion Frank Kimmel starts 11th of the 29 car fields set to roll off on Sunday at 2:15 PM.

The race can be seen in streaming video on arcanation.com.

Who will win?

Will it be Lofton, or do ESR teammates Goess, Steve Arpin or Tim George Jr. have something to say about that?

Or will Schrader get the win?

Can Kimmel pull another out of his bag and begin to get closer to the most win categories?
