Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship 2013: Tee Times, Date and TV Schedule

Richard LangfordJun 7, 2018

American golf fans don't often pay a lot of attention to the European PGA Tour, but the stop in Abu Dhabi for the HSBC Golf Championship is different.

This is the first tournament of the year to get anything close to a loaded field. This tournament is loaded with European stars, and Tiger Woods has begun making a habit of playing in this event. He is not the only notable American to make the trip for this tournament, either. Jason Dufner is also scheduled to play.

Tiger will be kicking off his year in Abu Dhabi as he looks to climb from No. 2 in the rankings and reclaim his spot at No. 1 from Rory McIlroy, who is one of the many European stars participating in this event.

TV Schedule

Here is the schedule on the event's official website. When viewed on the website, the schedule looks as ordinary as almost every other tournament. However, Abu Dhabi is nine hours ahead of Eastern Standard.

So, the TV coverage for this tournament is going to look anything but normal. Coverage will begin on Wednesday, Jan. 16.

Round 1: The Golf Channel will broadcast live at 10:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday to 8 a.m. ET on Thursday.

Round 2: The Golf Channel will broadcast live at 11 p.m. ET on Thursday to 8 a.m. on Friday.

Round 3: The Golf Channel will broadcast live at 1:30 a.m. ET to 8 a.m. ET on Saturday.

Round 4: The Golf Channel will broadcast live at 1:30 a.m. ET to 8 a.m. ET on Sunday.

Also, NBC is offering a free live stream of the event.

Tee Times

Here are the full tee times for Round 1 and Round 2. Tee times for Rounds 3 and 4 will be determined following the completion of the proceeding round.

Tee times for Round 1 go from 10:20 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Jan. 16  to 4:20 a.m. ET on Thursday, Jan. 17.

Tee times are scheduled for the same times the following days for Round 2.

Group to Watch

Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods and Martin Kaymer will tee off at 10:40 p.m. ET on Wednesday and 3:05 a.m. ET on Friday for Round 2.

It takes a lot for Martin Kaymer to be a complete afterthought in his group, but he most definitely is in this one. That is what happens when you are playing with the world's No. 1 and 2 golfers.

With Nike just launching their new commercial featuring this dynamic golfing duo, the hype and hope for exciting head-to-head showdowns between these two is at an all-time high. Here we are in the infant stages of the golf year with these two set to face each other for two straight rounds.

This promises to be an epic year, with Rory and Tiger poised to wage several battles. We could get the first one right here.
