Tuesday's UEFA Champions League showdown between Olympiakos and Arsenal from Athens will prove meaningless unless only one of two potential scenarios plays itself out in Group B.

With the Gunners already locked into the knockout phase, the only thing that remains to be seen is whether they'll win the group or advance as runner-ups. Schalke leads Arsenal by one point entering Tuesday's pair of Group B finales.

What's At Stake?

Both Schalke and Arsenal are already locked into the next Champions League stage, but the group has not yet been won. If Schalke defeats Montpellier they secure the group and Arsenal finishes as runners-up regardless of what it does against Olympiakos. Otherwise, the Gunners have a shot to win the group if they can earn three points and Schalke loses or draws at Montpellier

Olympiakos and Montpellier are both destined for the Europa League and are playing to be a seeded team as well as for pride in front of their supporters on Tuesday.

What They're Saying

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger fired back at the pregame press conference when asked about his struggles and job security (www1.SkySports.com):

You should look a little bit at the statistics and not only read the newspapers. I only have one pressure and that is to win the next football game and to play the football I love.

The Gunners haven't won a match since their last Champions League showdown with Montpellier on November 21. Wenger's club is coming off a 2-0 defeat to Swansea City and he is under pressure to get the most out of his side on Tuesday whether he thinks so or not.

On the other side, Leonardo Jardim expects a strong effort from his men on Tuesday despite the fact that they've already been eliminated from advancing in the Champions League (via TeamTalk.com):

We have a couple of aims to fulfil, the first is to be one of the seeded teams in the Europa League draw, and the second target is to perform well to give happiness to our fans.

Fans should anticipate a lot of energy from Olympiakos as they take on Arsenal with a nothing-to-lose mentality.

Olympiakos Player to Watch: Kostas Mitroglou

Greek forward Kostas Mitroglou is Olympiakos' leading goal scorer in the Champions League with three goals in five matches. Mitroglou was also the only player to score for his side in its 3-1 defeat to Arsenal two months ago.

Regardless of whether Leonardo Jardim opts to start Mitroglou or bring him in late as a substitute on Tuesday, fans can expect the 24-year-old to have a major impact for the home side.

Arsenal Player to Watch: Olivier Giroud

Olivier Giroud has played superb football for the Gunners since being acquired this past offseason from French club Montpellier. The 26-year-old forward has only one goal in five Champions League appearances this season, but has tallied four assists during that time.

Watch for Giroud's strength in midfield to play a huge role for Arsenal on Tuesday. If he can provide opportunities for others in the attacking zone then perhaps the Gunners can pull out a difficult away victory.

Prediction

With Arsenal having already guaranteed a spot in the knockout phase, expect the Gunners to play a more relaxed match, ultimately giving up goal scoring chances for Olympiakos. Plus, if history is any indication, the Greek club is almost a lock to win. In six clashes between Olympiakos and Arsenal, all six have gone to the home side.

Olympiakos 2, Arsenal 1
