Even Especially if your name is Cristiano Ronaldo.
Real Madrid and Ronaldo whipped Mallorca 5-0 on Sunday in Spain's Liga BBVA. Ronaldo was his usually brilliant self, scoring a couple goals and setting up Gonzalo Higuain's second.
(Shameless self-promotion: For the full week's recap of all things Ronaldo, visit our "Messi and Ronaldo Watch" right here. Please. It has stats and graphics.)
All the while, Ronaldo also received the customarily hostile treatment from the opposing fans. And as this one was over pretty quickly, Mallorca's home fans at the Iberostar Stadium had plenty of time to think of creative jeers.
So after Ronaldo was spotted begging the home crowd for more abuse early in the match, the Mallorca fans came up with this:
"Cristiano es una Barbie."
Even if you don't speak Spanish, you get the point. If not, here.
The video of the Barbie chanting can be seen above. It's the Set Piece Video of the Day. Enjoy, but beware of profanity.
In fairness, Ronaldo has pretty much called himself a Barbie, or at least something similar, in the past. As he revealed in 2011, the reason opposing fans hate him so much is this (via The Independent):
"I think that because I am rich, handsome and a great player people are envious of me," he said. "I don't have any other explanation."
So there you have it. Barbie? Ken Doll? Most modest man on Earth? Take your pick.
