SF Giants Parade 2012: Route, Date, Time, TV Schedule and More

Tim KeeneyOct 28, 2012

The San Francisco Giants are ready to party like it's 2010.

After knocking off the Detroit Tigers by a score of 4-3 in 10 innings to complete the World Series sweep, Bruce Bochy's squad became one of world baseball champions for the second time in three years.

For hardcore baseball fans, that's all that matters. Lesser fans, however, will of course be concerned with the parade that will celebrate San Fran's triumph.

And honestly, can you blame them?

A parade is just a huge party in the middle the street. It's a time to celebrate the hometown team that brought sports fans the ultimate prize. It's a time to skip school. To skip work. Parades like this are a once-in-a-lifetime—or in San Francisco's case, twice-in-three-years—opportunity, and if you're in the area, you won't want to miss.

So let's take a look at everything you need to know about the giant mobile party.

Date: Wednesday, October 31

Time: 11 a.m. PT

TV Schedule: You can watch the parade live on KRON 4 or follow along live on their Facebook feed

Route

This year's route has yet to be officially announced, but when the Giants won in 2010, they took the same parade route as the one the team took in 1958 when it moved to San Fran from New York.

So, this year's should be similar to the following (via San Francisco Chronicle):

The parade will start "at Montgomery and Washington streets and go southbound on Montgomery to Market Street before continuing west on Market to Civic Center Plaza." The parade ends on the steps of City Hall.

According to FOX40 News, it sounds as though that will be the route once again this year.

We'll be sure to keep you updated as more becomes known about the official 2012 route.
