After Darren Fletcher last month, I am back with another interview for you at Soccernet, Sport-Digital, Bleacher Report, Goal Network, and We Talk Football.

This time we caught up with Ryan Giggs. I got a chance to catch up with Ryan Giggs when I was doing the preview show for Grandslam Sunday with WorldSport-ESPN. I apologize because I know we had promised an interview with Frank Lampard, but we were unable to catch up with Lamps so we flew up to Manchester on Monday to catch up with the seasoned Welshman.

This article may not be republished or edited, as it is property of World Sport-ESPN.

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Andy Wharton from Sky, for the writing credits. The location once again was Wiliktane Stand (near Carrington).

SS: Ryan, thanks for joining us.

RG: Indeed, my pleasure.

SS: Giggsy, you are now captain of Manchester United, how do you feel about what you have achieved so far in your career?

RG: (Laughs)...Well (Thinks) I am actually very proud of all that I have become and it is because of the belief put into me by so many people.

SS: Why did you choose Man Utd over Man City when you were 14?

RG: (both laugh)...It was not completely my decision, my family and buddies then were telling me United was a bigger club but it was actually City who picked me out from Swindon, I guess it was Sir Alex who sort of forced me into it but going back...I would not change it for anything.

SS: With new players like Nani, Anderson and Hargreaves coming into the squad, the competition has grown fierce, how do you see this as a veteran?

RG: (Laughs), I feel like I have been around forever now, so many players have come and gone and you only play for Man United if you are top class like Scholesy or Ron(Ronaldo), so it's great to see new players coming in as they all bring something new to the team.

SS: You have a couple of records that anyone would dream of having like the overall appearance record and that you have scored in every season of the Premier League, how do they make you feel?

RG: I am not really a man for records...They are good to talk about...but on the pitch, they don't really matter even if you have played hundreds of games or scored hundreds of goals before.

SS: You have Liverpool at home, this weekend, what sort of an impact do you think this might have on the season?

RG: Well, we have Bolton in two days time, so first things first...The lads have been talking about the Liverpool game all week now, we're really up for it and we know if Arsenal slip up at Chelsea we will go top so the lads are up for the challenge.

SS: You have defended Cristiano Ronaldo against diving claims, do you think it's your responsibility to defend your teammate?

RG: Even if it isn't...I will because Ron is a friend and he's very important for Man United because of his goal scoring and creating ability and we can't have Ronny down because it will affect how we play.

SS: What do you reckon as the high point of your career?

RG: Well...the treble, of course but last season was also very special.

SS: What do you do in anytime you get free?

RG: I am almost always with someone from United, or doing some charity work, recently I have become a UNICEF Representative again and I am launching a couple of their campaigns. Otherwise I find time to go to Cardiff and Pedlebury but nowadays I am mostly with Stacey and the kids (Liberty and Zach)

SS: Well Ryan, I hope you all the best for the games to come and thanks again for talking to us.

RG: (Nods)...Thanks for having me.
