Arsenal Transfer Rumours: Nicklas Bendtner and Ju-Young Park Exiting?

James DudkoJun 7, 2018

According to various reports, under-performing Arsenal strikers Nicklas Bendtner and Ju-Young Park are close to sealing loan moves away from the club.

Sky Sports has reported that reigning Serie A champions Juventus are close to welcoming Bendtner to Turin. That would perhaps close the Arsenal career of one of the most polarizing figures during Arsene Wenger's tenure.

Bendtner's self-confidence is well known and to refer to it as healthy would be a major understatement. Unfortunately, he has not produced the results to justify his conviction regarding his ability.

Like many young players Arsene Wenger has attempted to develop since the move to the Emirates Stadium, Bendtner has produced moments of promise but nothing more. Despite a respectable scoring record, Bendtner's time at Arsenal will likely be remembered for his clumsy touch on the field and ridiculous boasts off it.

Ju-Young Park also appears bound for the exit door on transfer deadline day. The South Korea international has to rank as perhaps the most unsuccessful import of the Wenger era.

Since arriving on deadline day one year ago, the quick forward failed to make an impact and soon disappeared from trace. La Liga side Celta Vigo are reportedly set to offer the former Monaco man a loan deal.

Arseblog.com reports that Park is close to sealing a 12-month loan move to the Spanish side. While neither Bendter nor Park were expected to play contributory roles for the Gunners this season, their departures raise serious questions about striker depth—or lack thereof—on Wenger's squad.

With Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski set for starting roles and Marouane Chamakh's future uncertain, Arsenal could at least use some bodies to fill in, if only in cup matches. Allowing a striker exodus, without new recruits in that area, is a major gamble from Wenger.
