Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao Must Be Featured by WWE at WrestleMania 29

With undefeated boxing legend Floyd Mayweather announcing that he will be working with the WWE at Wrestlemania 29 in New York, the company must go all-in and get Manny Pacquiao to appear as well.

They will not be fighting each other. Instead, they will be in the corners of the combatants in a WrestleMania match (probably Triple H and whomever he squares off against).

It will be the aura around the possibility of the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao dream match that will further sell this card to the mainstream fans internationally that have strayed from professional wrestling.

No matter what it costs, getting this pair of fighters in the same ring will be enough to sway the biggest numbers the company has ever seen.

Vince McMahon and company can’t miss out on an opportunity that huge.

They Won’t Fight

Whether it was money or a fear from one or the other that they might lose the fight, the dream fight between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather has never happened and will likely never happen.

As sad as that is for boxing fans, the WWE has the chance to capitalize on the hype around the potential superfight by putting the duo in the same ring.

The key will be that neither will ever lay a hand on the other unless they agree to do so.

The aura of having both men inside a ring after so many years of imagining that fight will just be too much for the casual fans to pass on. WrestleMania won’t feature the fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather, but it will be the next-best thing.

Pac-Man and Money are Publicity Enthusiasts

While this makes sense for the WWE financially and in terms of publicity, it also makes plenty of sense for both Team Mayweather and the Pacquiao camp. Both love selling themselves in all mainstream media outlets.

The hype around the duo squaring off in a ring—whether it's to "fight" or just to talk—will entice even the most causal boxing fans left in the world to tune into this pay-per-view event.

Along with all the mainstream coverage each man carries on his own, the fact that they will be on the same card and involved in a match will create enough intrigue to get people to believe that a fight could actually happen.

The WWE will tease them possibly fighting in order to draw the buy rates of the event through the roof.

No one will want to miss WrestleMania 29 if these two could possibly fight.

Will Draw Ratings Like Crazy

The WWE is a business first and foremost, and the inclusion of Mayweather and Pacquiao would ensure that WrestleMania 29 was the biggest PPV in the company’s history.

For what they’ll have to pay to make it happen, it had better be.

WrestleMania is already the company’s biggest show of the year, but that is among the casual wrestling fans that order just the one show a year or the hardcore fans that never miss any.

By adding Mayweather and Pacquiao to the card, it will draw millions more people.

The WWE’s desire to increase the publicity around their biggest show has led to the company pulling out all the stops, but this would top it all. If the WWE could do what boxing promoters have failed to do for over five years, they will earn every extra dollar they bring in.

This would be the biggest wrestling show in history.
