Alex HallJun 7, 2018

Arsenal has had a less-than-stellar start to the English Premier League season, with zero goals scored through two draws, but the team is looking to better themselves before the transfer window closes. The Gunners have been in talks to make some moves and here's the latest coming out of Emirates Stadium.

Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa

Jeremy Wilson of The Daily Telegraph is reporting that Arsenal is "likely to make a bid for Montpellier captain Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa."

The 23-year-old has posted a passing percentage of just under 80 percent to start his season with the French club and could really help shore up an Arsenal defense that is still feeling the affect of losing defensive midfielder Alex Song to Barcelona.

The Sun is reporting (via International Business Times) that the Gunners are in a "bidding war" with fellow EPL club Chelsea for Yanga-Mbiwa's services. The young Montpellier captain averaged just over two tackles and interceptions per game during the 2011-2012 season.

Yohan Cabaye

Keeping with the French theme, Georgina Turner of The Guardian is reporting nothing new has surfaced in regards to the rumors about the Gunners attempting to sign Newcastle United's Yohan Cabaye, but the buzz hasn't died around that possibility.

As far as Newcastle manager Alan Pardew is concerned however, Cabaye isn't going anywhere, at least this week. He told Lee Ryder of The Chronicle "Cabaye looks fine which is good for us...I think we are OK with everybody else."

The French international footballer posted four goals and six assists with the English club in the EPL last season joined Newcastle just last year.

Nicolai Boilesen

Ajax defender Nicolai Boilesen has been linked to Arsenal recently, in the Gunners continued hope to sure up the defensive side of the pitch.

Boilesen has played internationally for the Danish team and plays for one of the best teams in Eredivisie, proving he has had experience against top-level competition despite being just 20 years of age.

Boilesen has recently spoken about the rumors of Arsenal's interest, telling ekstrabladet.dk (via Crunch Sports)  "For now I am concentrating on my rehab here at Ajax but I am very flattered if it is true that a Premier League club has made an offer for me."

Regardless of whether or not the Gunners can get all of these players, the team is trying to make moves for quality players which is encouraging to see after a slow start to the EPL season.
