Arsenal Transfer News: Tracking All the Latest Rumors and Updates

Dan TalintyreJun 7, 2018

With little over a week to go in the summer transfer window, managers and teams around the world will be considering what last-minute deals to make in order to better equip themselves for the 2012-13 Premier League season.

Arsenal have already had a strong summer—bringing in Lukas Podolski, Olivier Giroud and Santi Cazorla—and whilst they did have to watch Robin van Persie take his talents to Old Trafford, few will dispute how successful the transfer window has been for Arsene Wenger's men.

What can we expect from the Gunners over the last week and bit of the transfer window? Read on to see all the latest Arsenal transfer news, rumors and gossip to see who could be making a move to the Emirates this season.

Nuri Sahin

Arsenal look set to capture Real Madrid midfielder Nuri Sahin on a one-year loan deal, according to latest reports via The Guardian.

The Turkish international is unlikely to receive significant playing time in La Liga this season, and manager Jose Mourinho is more than happy for him to switch competitions in order to find better minutes (per The Daily Mirror).

The Gunners have been strongly linked with Sahin, and a deal is understood to have been made between the two clubs (per Sky Sports), though no official announcement has been made.

Jesus Navas

The Spanish newspaper AS (h/t The Daily Star) claims that Arsenal are lining up Jesus Navas as a possible replacement for Theo Walcott should he leave the club this summer.

According to the report, "new signing Santi Cazorla has persuaded Wenger to think about fellow Spanish international Navas."

The 26-year-old has a £35 million buyout clause in his contract, though Sevilla are reportedly willing to accept an offer for around £20 million.

Rennes midfielder and highly coveted French international Yann M'Vila looks to be on the move this summer after his club confirmed that there has been much Premier League interest in the 21-year-old (per The Daily Mail).

With the summer departure of Alex Song to Barcelona, Arsenal appear to be the prime candidate to land the talented youngster, although Tottenham are also believed to be interested.

Cheikh M'Bengue

Toulouse defender Cheikh M'Bengue has claimed Arsenal are interested in him over the summer transfer window, telling L'Equipe (h/t Sky Sports):

"

"When such a big club is thinking about you, it is great pleasure, but you are above all surprised. It is really flattering. Moreover, the Premier League is the league where I would like to play—my agent is managing that and I believe he had talks with Toulouse's chairman.

"But you cannot refuse Arsenal, if everyone can benefit from it. I hope if there is an exciting proposition, the chairman won't block me. You also have to consider player's interest. Arsenal would be great."

Ki Sung Yueng

Swansea are believed to be closing in on Arsenal transfer target Ki Sung Yueng, a Celtic midfielder and talented youngster whom the Gunners have been tracking over the summer.

The Welsh club have confirmed they are in talks with Yeung, and have agreed on a £5.5 million fee for his transfer, with just personal details to be negotiated now (per The Daily Mail).

Marouane Chamakh

6 of 7

There are talks of a shock loan deal for Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh, although conflicting reports have emerged about the accuracy of the rumor.

ESPN Soccernet states that there is no interest from Spurs, citing their recent signing of Emmanuel Adebayor on a permanent deal as the striker acquisition they wanted.

Chamakh has struggled since arriving at the Emirates.

Nicklas Bendtner

7 of 7

Wrapping up our Arsenal transfer news for this week is Niklas Bendtner, who is reportedly a transfer target of Italian giants AC Milan (per The Daily Mail).

They report that AC Milan are prepared to offer Arsenal Philippe Mexes in order to make a deal for the Danish international go through, an offer that I'm not sure Arsenal really want or need. Mexes would provide cover, but considering his age and wage structure, he wouldn't be the ideal acquisition for Arsene Wenger's team.
