It’s the next best thing to ponying up the money for the pay-per-view itself.
They’ll also be streaming SummerSlam 2012 from the WWE website for a small fee of $44.95.
Where: Staples Center, Los Angeles
When: Sunday, Aug. 19 at 8 p.m. ET (pre-show at 7:30 p.m. ET)
Pre-Show Live Stream: WWE YouTube Channel
SummerSlam 2012 Live Stream: WWE.com ($44.95)
The biggest draw of this free live stream has to be the United States Championship bout. Cesaro is a newcomer, but he has shown some promise on SmackDown—enough to be featured in this match. Although, the match itself isn’t very noteworthy, as it is merely a teaser for fans and those not purchasing SummerSlam.
With that being the case, it would make a lot of sense for Cesaro to come away with the title in this one. For one thing, it will excite the masses as SummerSlam begins, and it will also provide a bump for the relevancy of the U.S. title.
Cesaro’s prominence on SmackDown would give the title a newfound importance and possibly revitalize the division—at least enough to move it onto a main card and off of the free pre-show realm.
