Arsenal Transfer News: Gunners Reportedly Want Toulouse Star Cheikh M'Bengue
Cheikh M'Bengue may just be the next player joining Arsenal.
According to Greg Heffer of the Daily Star, Arsenal has been in negotiations with the Toulouse star and would be interested in securing the services of the 24-year-old.
The Senegalese left back would be a huge addition to the club as he could potentially add depth behind current left back Kieran Gibbs. M'Bengue, who has played within the Toulouse system since he was seven years old, was surprised and honored that the club has interest in him, telling French newspaper L'Equipe:

"I do not expect it. When a big club like that think of you, it's nice. It's really flattering. In addition to the Premier League is a championship where I want to evolve... I had not planned to leave, I have two year contract. But Arsenal, it can not be refused if everyone is benefiting.
"
As M'Bengue points out, some details would need to be worked out if he is to make the move to Arsenal. He has two years left on his current deal with Toulouse and he certainly won't leave his hometown team unless a deal is reached that will benefit all involved, but he is definitely a player to keep an eye on.
Should the Gunners lure M'Bengue away, they wouldn't have to worry about the left back position for quite some time as the 22-year-old Gibbs would form a nice duo of young talent at the position.
