Ryan Lochte made it through the taping of his role on an upcoming episode of 90210. Fortunately, nobody was harmed and the set didn't burn down.
That's pretty much the good news.
Extra TV caught up with the Olympic swimmer on the set of what should be a revolutionary role in TV history.
There, Lochte does his best impression of Forrest Gump being interviewed, and it's remarkably spot on with just a touch of nuance that only he can provide.
At around the :45 second mark, you can actually see a hamster running on a wheel, powering the thoughts of one of the best swimmers in the world.
We get so much insight that I really feel like we need to pay tuition for this film-school lesson. Apparently, the hardest part of it all is memorizing the lines.
I don't see it because he delivers this scintillating line perfectly in the video:
Oh, don't worry. The ropes course is a piece of cake. ... Jeah, seriously. I would love to race Phelps on that.
I can't fathom how many 5 Hours he went through, staying up at night memorizing that line.
The more amazing part in all this is the screenwriter who sat down with the task of getting the famous word "jeah" into the scene.
It must have taken some serious scribes hours of wordsmith fiddling to incorporate this, making millions of Lochte fans proud.
We can all now sit back and wait for the Emmy that will no doubt come from a role that is simply historic.
Lochte has serious chops, playing himself and then being interviewed right after. There is no rest for the weary, even after the Olympics are done.
