So far in terms of transfers, this summer has been about strengthening the attack. They have already completed the signings of two forwards, Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud. The Gunners have also been linked with Santi Cazorla and Nuri Sahin. Arsenal is inching closer and closer to signing the midfielders.

In The Independent, it was reported that Real Madrid would be letting Nuri Sahin go this summer as he is a surplus to the team's requirements. This news couldn't be better to hear for Arsenal. Then, with Cazorla, it was reported in Fox News that the Spaniard is in London this week to undergo a medical with Arsenal.

Then, there is the Robin van Persie saga. At this point in time, there doesn't seem to be a specific destination for the Dutch striker. He has been linked with Manchester United, Manchester City and Juventus. With time passing by, the prolific scorer might end up just staying at Arsenal for another season.

However, he might decide to extend his contract considering the transfer activities Arsenal have been involved in. With Cazorla, Sahin, Podolski and Giroud in the Gunners' lineup, they certainly will be considered one of the best offensive teams in the league.

With the way things seem, the midfield and attack would consist of Theo Walcott on the right wing, Cazorla on the left wing and Podolski in a central attacking position. Then, based on the van Persie situation, either van Persie or Giroud would play as a striker. A potential possibility for the defensive midfield area could include Sahin and Song playing alongside each other.

This would make Arsenal one of the biggest offensive threats in the Premier League.

In terms of defense, Arsenal is finding their way. Last season, Laurent Koscielny managed to have a great season. He became one of Arsenal's best defenders with his great performances last season. Then, the other solid center-back of the team, Thomas Vermaelen, is going to be a key part of the defense next season.

Bacary Sagna is one of the best right-backs in the Premier League; he is consistently making tackles when necessary. Kieran Gibbs, the left-back, is also a player who is on the road to becoming a better left-back.

So, Arsenal's defense is one part of the Arsenal puzzle that is being completed.

Arsenal's attack is already very effective and deadly. But, there are a few holes in this part of Arsenal's style of play that Santi Cazorla and Nuri Sahin would fill up.

Santi Cazorla

Cazorla would basically add more winger qualities to the team. The Spanish international is a great dribbler who can take defenders one-on-one.

He is also a good shooter from distance. That is a characteristic that is not very present with the Gunners. The other players who can take consistent long shots are Robin van Persie and Mikel Arteta.

With a good long shot also comes good free kick taking abilities. Cazorla can take good free kicks on a consistent basis, so that would add another set piece option for Arsenal.

The winger would be a true offensive asset.

Nuri Sahin

Sahin is more of a natural playmaker. He is a great passer who makes key passes when necessary. He especially likes to play long balls, just like Alex Song. He also likes to dribble and take long shots. So there is another distance shooter that would join the team.

He can also take set pieces, whether it means taking a shot, or simply whipping in a dangerous ball.

In conclusion, Sahin adds a more tactical edge to the Gunners.

So ultimately, if one looks at Arsenal's starting lineup, defense is an area that is in the process of becoming better, while the offensive side is an area of the Gunners' play that is just making some final improvements.

With the way things look with Santi Cazorla, he will be a Gunner soon, but if both Santi Cazorla and Nuri Sahin join Arsenal, they could add the final pieces to the Arsenal puzzle—this could maybe lead Arsenal to a much needed trophy.

So, do you think Santi Cazorla and Nuri Sahin would be the final necessary additions for Arsenal to win a trophy?
